Azimut 45 Atlantis

The Atlantis 45 is the mid-size boat in the Atlantis range, which since 2018 has been marketed as an integrated part of the Azimut line-up rather than as the semi-separate sub-brand it once was. Where the larger Azimut Flybridge and Magellano ranges are long-range or two-deck boats, Atlantis models are single-level sport cruisers: a hardtop over the helm and saloon, no upper deck, and a hull tuned for planing rather than displacement passage-making. The 45 was shown at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2019 as the successor to the Atlantis 43, and reached the United States market at the Palm Beach show the following spring.

Exterior styling is credited to Neo Design, with the hull from the Azimut-Benetti research department and the interior done in-house. The yard quotes a length overall of 14.60 metres including the pulpit, a maximum beam of 4.20 metres and a draft of 1.10 metres measured at full load with the propellers included. Some press tests report the beam as 4.25 metres; the builder's figure is used here. The hull is glass-reinforced plastic and is described by Azimut as semi-planing with 15 degrees of deadrise at the transom, which is shallow for a boat of this type and helps explain the low minimum planing speed reported in testing.

The main deck is one continuous space. A sliding sunroof opens most of the hardtop, and a fabric extension on steel supports can be run aft over the cockpit. Inside, the galley is to starboard and a U-shaped sofa and dinette to port, with the helm forward; the cockpit aft has seating, a wet bar and a sunpad over the transom, and there is a garage under it sized for a tender of around 2.4 metres. Below are two cabins and two heads with separate showers: a forward owner's cabin and a midships cabin whose berths can be arranged as a double or twins, with a third berth available as an option. The dinette also converts, so berth counts quoted by brokers vary between four and six. Four is the figure used here as it matches the yard's own accommodation table.

Propulsion is Volvo Penta IPS in every version. Boats from launch had twin IPS600 units rated at 440 metric horsepower each, and independent tests recorded a two-way top speed of about 34 knots and efficient cruising in the region of 26 to 27 knots. Azimut now lists the boat with twin IPS650 at 480 horsepower and quotes up to 35 knots, with brokerage listings showing that engine from roughly the 2022 model year. The boat is aimed at owners wanting a fast weekender or short-cruise boat with pod-drive joystick handling rather than a full liveaboard, and it is certified to CE category B.
