XO 270 RS Cabin

The 270 RS Cabin was XO Boats' third model, after the XO 240 Cabin and the XO 220 Open. It first appeared in 2012–2013: MBY's used-boat guide gives 2013 as the launch year, and Kippari published a test in May 2013. XO called it its flagship, and it was a finalist in the Performance category of Motorboat of the Year 2014. The yard dropped the "RS" around 2016 and sold it as the XO 270 Cabin, later "270 Cabin IB/Inboard", next to the 270 Front Cabin and the outboard 270 Cabin OB and Front Cabin OB. Late in 2020 the range was briefly listed as the 280, and from 2021 it continued as the EXPLR 10 series, which topRik describes as a relaunch of the 270 series with modifications.

The hull is 5083-grade marine aluminium, 5 mm and 4 mm thick, with oversized stringers and bulkheads. The deadrise is 24° at the transom, the bow is vertical, and the self-draining deck module is GRP. The design is Finnish; the boats were built in Poland. The wheelhouse has a toughened-glass sliding door aft, twin sliding roof hatches and a sofa on the passenger side. A dayberth sits in front of the helm and can also be reached from the foredeck. The yard gave berths as 1 + 2 and a load limit of 10 persons. From 2016 the boat came in Utility, Touring and Me (later Rider) equipment packages.

It was sold with a single diesel on a sterndrive. The Volvo Penta D4-300 with DPH drive was the standard engine, and the D6-370 was the larger option. The yard's 2020 configurator also offered the Mercury 3.0 V6 (270 hp) and 4.2 V8 TDI (370 PS) diesels and the Yanmar 8LV370Z. Dagens PS tested a boat with a Yanmar 6BY2-260. The yard's HP recommendation was 260–370 hp in 2013–2016 and 300–370 hp in 2019, with a top speed of "40+ knots".

MBY tested the boat in September 2013 and called it "so good to drive it's breathtaking". Kippari rated it a well-focused, economical commuter. Dagens PS praised its balance and visibility but called the standard equipment thin.
