XO EXPLR 10S

The EXPLR 10 Sport belongs to XO Boats' 10-metre EXPLR family, which comes in four versions: Sport (outboards, open forward cockpit), Sport IB (inboard), Sport+ (outboards, closed forward sleeping cabin) and Sport+ IB. In April 2021 XO put all its models into the DSCVR, EXPLR and DFNDR series and changed model numbers from length in feet to metres, renaming existing models to match. Toprik describes the EXPLR 10 as a relaunch, with modifications, of the earlier XO 270 series, which Vene first presented in 2013.

The hull is XO's aluminium deep-V with a fibreglass deck and superstructure. XO calls the hull exceptionally aggressive on this model, with 24 degrees of deadrise. XO gives an overall length of 9.4 m for the outboard versions, compared with 8.66 m for the inboard versions, on a 2.5 m beam. Fuel is carried in two 225-litre tanks.

XO lists the Sport with twin 250 hp outboards and a top speed of 45+ knots, and gives berths for three and a CE category of C. Published tests of the 10-metre model are of the Sport+ version, for example BoatTEST's 2024 walkthrough. No independent test of the open-bow Sport was found.
