Delta 54 IPS
The Delta 54 IPS is an 18.10 m carbon-fibre sport motor yacht, the model Delta launched in 2010-2011 as the world's first serial-production carbon-fibre motor yacht. It has a 4.60 m beam, a 1.40 m draft, a 12,800 kg dry weight and three cabins sleeping six with two heads. It is CE category B and driven exclusively by twin Volvo Penta IPS pods up to 1200 hp.
The 54 IPS is Delta's carbon flagship of the 2010s and the boat on which the brand's lightweight-carbon reputation was built, promoted as the first serial-production carbon-fibre motor yacht and claiming up to 40 per cent lower fuel use than an equivalent GRP build. The whole structure - hull, stringers, bulkheads, deck and superstructure - is vacuum-infused carbon.
It is offered only with Volvo Penta IPS pod drives, and 'the 54' and 'the 54 IPS' are the same boat: there is no sterndrive or shaft version. The current package is twin D8 IPS-800 pods for 1200 hp combined; earlier material cites a triple IPS600 option of about 1305 hp, described here rather than averaged in. Because the pods are the deepest point, the 1.40 m draft is effectively a full-draft figure.
Accommodation is three cabins sleeping six with two heads, on 2900 litres of fuel and 700 of water.
