Finngulf 28

I produktion Okänt Formgiven av Håkan Södergren

The Finngulf 28 in the sync's name list is taken here as Håkan Södergren's 8.45 m fractional sloop of about 1985, from the period when Finngulf built Södergren boats partly under the Inferno name. Little is documented about it; Finngulf itself later used the name FG 28 for the 1998 Stråhlmann-designed 28e.

Håkan Södergren's own design list credits him with a Finngulf/Inferno 28 dated 1985, and the sailboatdata record gives it as an 8.45 m fin-keel, spade-rudder fractional sloop of 2,800 kg with 1,170 kg of ballast, originally fitted with a 10 hp Volvo Penta 2001 diesel. Finngulf's own company history says that in the early 1980s it built the 28, 31 and 33 under subcontract as Inferno boats, so some of these hulls may carry the Inferno name rather than Finngulf.

No brochure, test or sales listing for this boat was found, and the yard's later model list does not include it. When Finngulf's website and owners' club refer to the "FG 28" they mean the Karl-Johan Stråhlmann-designed 28e built from 1998 to 2005, so a boat advertised as a Finngulf 28 is quite possibly a 28e.
