MerCruiser Sterndrive leg
Bravo Three XR
The reinforced twin-propeller Bravo Three, rated for petrol engines to 525 hp and diesel to 370 hp, and named by Mercury Racing as the drive for its 520 hp engines in heavier cruisers.
The Bravo Three XR sits at the top of the dual-prop Bravo Three family. Like its siblings it runs contra-rotating four-blade and three-blade propellers on a shaft-within-a-shaft, cancelling torque steer and giving quick acceleration and low bow lift. Mercury Racing recommends its propeller set for 260-350 hp diesel and 260-525 hp petrol engines, and positions the drive for heavier high-performance cruisers rather than for outright top speed, where the single-prop Bravo One XR is used instead.
