The extended-case twin-propeller Bravo Three, with contra-rotating four-blade and three-blade props, rated for petrol engines to 525 hp and diesel to 370 hp.
Mercury catalogues Bravo Three, Three X and Three XR as one family of dual contra-rotating drives. The opposed propellers cancel torque, giving straight tracking, quick acceleration, reduced bow lift and marina-speed steering control that no single-prop drive matches. The X is the extended-case build below the reinforced XR. A Bravo Three X Diesel version serves diesel engines.
