Marex 280 Holiday

The 280 Holiday belongs to Marex's Holiday and aft-cabin line, which ran from the 77 Holiday (1983) and 277 Holiday (1988) to the 280 Holiday (1991) and later the 320 Aft Cabin Cruiser. Marex describes it as a single-diesel, shaft-drive boat on a semi-displacement hull, intended for coastal and river cruising; Danish Bådmagasinet says it stayed in production for 22 years.

The cockpit is amidships, with a fore-and-aft bench to port and a helm seat that turns aft to face a folding table for six. The forward cabin has a table that lowers to form a double berth, and the aft cabin, under a large sunbed on deck, has a double and a single berth. There is one toilet compartment with a shower. The boat was offered with a targa arch or a hardtop (HT).

Engines seen in surviving boats include Volvo Penta TMD22 and D3-190 and Yanmar 4LH diesels. In a used-boat review Bådmagasinet noted that the fixed shaft and fairly deep keel keep the boat on course at low speed but make it heel outward in turns; it planes at about 12 knots and exceeds 18 knots with the largest engines, and used prices were above average for its class.
