Nord Star 31+

The Nord Star 31+ is a rugged all-weather pilothouse cruiser from Nord Star, the boatbuilding brand of Linex-Boat Oy in Kokkola, Finland. Introduced in 2020, it belongs to the current '+' generation and replaced the earlier Nord Star 30 in the lineup. It is a distinct, newer boat from the older 2008–2014 Nord Star 31 Patrol, which is documented separately. The layout follows the classic Scandinavian formula of a centrally placed wheelhouse with walk-around side decks giving safe access around the entire boat.

According to the manufacturer, the 31+ has a length overall of 10.05 m (33'2"), a beam of 3.15 m and a dry weight of about 5,000 kg. It carries a 520-litre fuel tank, a 117-litre fresh-water tank and a 90-litre holding tank. Berths are listed as 2+2(+1) across two cabins (a forward cabin and a mid cabin), with a single heads/shower compartment, and a maximum certified capacity of 10 persons. It is a CE Design Category B (offshore) vessel with a GRP hull and superstructure and an 18.3-degree stern deadrise.

A hallmark of the 31+ is its unusually broad engine choice: single or twin, diesel or petrol installations from Volvo Penta and Mercury, plus outboard options. Documented diesel sterndrive options include single Volvo Penta D6-340, D6-380, D6-400 and D6-440, twin Volvo Penta D4-270 and D4-320, and twin Mercury Diesel 3.0L 270. The manufacturer quotes a maximum rated power of 550 kW and a maximum speed of 45 knots; independent tests report roughly 35–37 knots on typical single-diesel configurations. Reviewers such as Motor Boat & Yachting have called it a capable 'SUV of the seas' that punches above its weight, while noting interior finish trails its pricier Finnish rivals in places.
