Nord Star 33+

The Nord Star 33+ sits in the middle of Nord Star's contemporary '+' pilothouse range, built by Linex-Boat Oy in Kokkola, Finland. It is a walkaround pilothouse cruiser designed for demanding Nordic and offshore conditions, with a hand-laminated GRP hull carrying an 18.5-degree deadrise. The wheelhouse is offset to port to free up a wider starboard side deck, and the walkaround layout is served by three doors so the crew can move fore and aft and handle lines safely in poor weather. Reviewers describe it as an 'all-weather bruiser' that is nonetheless comfortable and cruise-friendly.

Accommodation is arranged over two cabins — a forward cabin with a convertible double and a mid cabin — giving berths for four to five, together with a heads/shower compartment and galley. The boat is offered in a Standard layout and a Cruiser layout, the latter adding a starboard galley and larger 680 L fuel and 175 L water tanks versus 615 L / 145 L on the Standard. Manufacturer figures give an LOA of 11.2 m, a 3.4 m beam and a dry weight of about 7,000 kg, with a recommended maximum of 12 persons.

Propulsion is by Volvo Penta duoprop sterndrive (or Yanmar), with options spanning single D6-400 and D6-440 and twin installations of the D4-230, D4-270, D4-300, D4-320, D6-380 and D6-440, plus a twin Yanmar 8LV370. Depending on rig the 33+ cruises in the 20–32 knot range and tops out around 40–45 knots. It is a newer, larger addition to the range: the Patrol-era boats were the smaller 31 and 32, with no 33 Patrol equivalent.
