Marex 310 Sun Cruiser

The Sun Cruiser line began with the 27 Sun Cruiser (1979-1990) and continued with the 8900 Sun Cruiser (1988), the 290 Sun Cruiser (1990, 356 built) and the 300 Sun Cruiser (2006, 159 built). The 310 followed in 2016, drawn by Marex with Nikl Design. A 2026 facelift brought a larger roof able to carry up to 450 W of solar panels, revised cockpit parts and side vents, and a swim platform almost a metre longer.

The planing hull carries a cockpit whose canopy stows in lockers in the superstructure sides, and a wide companionway joins the galley to the cockpit. Below are two double cabins (forward 1.55 x 2.10 m, midships 1.60 x 2.00 m) and one head; the dinette converts to two more berths. Saloon headroom is 2.05 m.

The current engine list runs from a single Volvo Penta D4-320 through D6-380 and D6-440 diesels on DPI sterndrives, a Volvo Penta V8-430 petrol engine, and twin Mercury Diesel 3.0L 270 with Bravo Three drives and Axius joystick; earlier boats were tested with the D4-300 and D6-370. Boating New Zealand (2019, D6-370) recorded 34 knots, and Norway's Båt magazine tested a D6-370 boat in 2017. Besides the 2017 European Powerboat of the Year and Motor Boat of the Year awards, the model received a German Design Award in 2018.
