The current Mercury 40 FourStroke EFI is a naturally aspirated 747 cc inline-three petrol outboard. The 40 Command Thrust is a different 995 cc inline-four.
Standard 40 EFI is the 747 cc (45.6 CID) inline-3 SOHC, WOT 5500–6000, lightest dry 216 lb / 98 kg, 40 / 30 kW.
40 Command Thrust and SeaPro 40 use the 995 cc I4 — the 50/60 block — at 40 hp. That hang is a variant; specs on this row stay the 747 cc I3. A remaining carb 40 on the same I3 is 93 kg and is not averaged.
