Anytec

Speed comes from within

Anytec is a Swedish builder of fast, planing aluminium motorboats, headquartered in Umea and with production at its own facility in Riga, Latvia. The brand's roots reach back to a small yard in Osthammar and Oregrund on the Swedish east coast, which from the 1960s built and repaired boats and by the 1970s and 80s had become one of Sweden's leading aluminium-welding operations, exporting passenger catamarans worldwide. In the mid-1990s an employee began building aluminium boats for leisure use, and the resulting craft found a following in the Stockholm archipelago for pairing aluminium's toughness with genuinely good sea-keeping. Anytec as a brand dates from 2004, when rising demand and cramped premises pushed management into large-scale manufacturing and production moved to Riga. The commercial breakthrough came with the Anytec 750 SPD, and the yard set consecutive sales records in 2011, 2012 and 2015. In 2014, after a protracted ownership dispute, Anytec was declared bankrupt; the estate was acquired by former NHL player Peter Forsberg together with Mats Melbin, both previously part-owners. The present legal entity, Anytec Sweden AB, was registered on 12 December 2013. Every Anytec is hand-built in marine-grade aluminium without robots. Sheets are assembled on a jig to millimetre precision and then welded throughout — no rivets anywhere — producing a monolithic hull rated for speeds up to and beyond 60 knots. All aluminium above the waterline receives M400, the yard's own patented surface treatment, which bonds chemically to the metal to form a maintenance-free corrosion shield. Hulls use variable deadrise, typically around 20 to 23 degrees at the transom sharpening to 47 to 55 degrees at the bow. The range spans roughly 5.7 to 12 metres and is entirely outboard-powered today; the inboard and sterndrive boats in the 2011 catalogue are long out of production. It divides into the legacy numeric models (622, 750, 800R, 860, 868, 1221), the newer A-series (A27, A27C, A28-T, A30, A33C) and an Extreme line topped by the quad-engine 1221 SPD. Anytec redesigned the whole range in 2017 and dropped several models, then restarted 622 SP, 622 SPD and 750 SPD as 'Classic' versions in November 2020, brought the 860 SPD back in December 2023 and the 868 CAB back for model year 2024.
