XO 220 S

The 220 S joined the XO range around 2010, when the yard, then based in Heinola, listed it next to the 240 RS Open, 240 RS Cabin and the smaller 200 S. Båtnytt, testing it in 2011, described it as the newest and smallest XO at the time and as a shortened version of the 240 RS Open, the brand's original model, which had been drawn by Sakari Mattila. The yard later marketed it as the XO 220 S Open and, from about 2017, simply as the XO 220. It no longer appears in the yard's range listings from 2019.

The hull is welded from AlMg4.5 (5083) marine aluminium with 5 mm bottom and 4 mm side plating and oversized stringers and bulkheads, topped by a self-draining GRP deck module. Unlike the larger XOs it has no spray rails, which XO said was intended to give a calmer, softer ride; deadrise at the transom is 24 degrees (23 degrees in the yard's 2010 data). Two side consoles with lockable storage flank a walkway to a small forward well, which testers treated as load space rather than seating, and there is a two-person bench aft, so the boat seats four in practice. Standard equipment in 2014 included hydraulic steering, trim tabs, twin fuel fillers and windscreen wipers on both sides.

The yard's figures are 6.75 m length, 2.28 m beam, 1,100 kg without engine, a 205 l fuel tank, 0.90 m draft and CE category C for six people; its HP recommendation was 100 to 200 hp. Båtnytt's test boat had an Evinrude E-TEC 150, which was included in the Swedish base price, and reached 37.7 knots; the magazine found it unusually well balanced in 1.5 m waves but noted the few seats and the high price. Båtliv, testing it in Norway in 2012, reported a claimed top speed of 38 knots and a tendency to drop the bow when airborne.
