Nord West 370 Flybridge
The Nord West 370 Flybridge is an 11.8 m Swedish flybridge cruiser with three cabins, five berths and one heads, built from 2008 to 2013. It was the first model on the 370 hull, designed by Benny Martinsson, and was sold with twin Volvo Penta D4 diesels on sterndrives or with IPS400 pods.
Nord West Yachts launched the 370 in 2008 as a smaller sister to the Nord West 420, offered from the start as a Flybridge or a Coupe, with sterndrives or Volvo Penta IPS. The designer's own history page says Nord West became one of the first yards to build boats with IPS in series. The spec page gives the production years as 2008 to 2013.
The 370 hull was designed by Benny Martinsson, Nord West's owner and designer, and credited on the designer's own spec pages as 'Benny Martinsson, 2008'. PowerYacht Blog describes it as a variable-deadrise vee with a fine entry, drawn to work with both sterndrives and Volvo Penta IPS pods, and used unchanged under all four 370 versions: Flybridge, Coupe, Sport and SportsTop. All four share the yard's figures of 11.8 m length, 3.5 m beam, 1.2 m draft, about 9 tonnes, 800 l of fuel and 435 l of water, and the yard spec pages give 2008 or 2009 to 2013 as the production years.
The Flybridge has five berths in three cabins below and a single heads compartment with a round shower. On the main deck are a saloon with the galley to starboard and a dinette whose forward seat reverses into a co-pilot seat. From the cockpit, which has room for a dining table, a moulded staircase leads to the flybridge, where there is a fixed table and an L-shaped sofa. Its air draught is 4.9 m, or 3.5 m with the radar arch lowered. A later version with a larger cockpit is mentioned on one 2011 boat's sales page.
Motor Boat & Yachting's 2008 launch report lists twin 260 or 300 hp Volvo Penta D4 sterndrive diesels or twin IPS400, a top speed of 33 knots and a UK price from GBP 306,000 including VAT. Boats sold second-hand through the designer's office carry twin D4-300 sterndrives or IPS400. The yard page says Volvo Penta brought out its joystick for sterndrives around the 370's launch, and many 370s were built with it. The yard quotes the editor of Motor Boats Monthly, which tested the boat in October 2008, calling it the best-handling flybridge in the world.
